| Villa for rent in Burgundy & Franche-Comté, France On the edge of the famous wine-growing village of Fleurie, close to all those other well known names such as Moulin à Vent, Chénas and Chiroubles, stands this impressive old property, typically Beaujolais in architecture. Beaujolais is more than just wine! - it is a pretty and hilly area of charming villages, old churches, lovely walks, and with easy access to the Gallic capital city of Lyons, a must for a day-trip. There is also, just five minutes down the road at Romanèche-Thorins, a very interesting wine museum housed in the superbly renovated old railway station. Youngsters will find the nearby zoo with aquapark a fun place to spend the day. Our accommodation is at the far left side of the property with a large degree of privacy. The main floor comprises a light and spacious brand-new living/dining area with well equipped kitchen adjoining, all with newly tiled floors, and with french windows to the spacious, private rear patio. Here, there are views stretching across the vineyards to the landmark chapel up on the Fleurie hill. The three bedrooms are spacious, with parquet floors and are prettily decorated. The charming owners have a large family and will be only too pleased to supply extra cots, high chairs and such like! They live in the main house, well separated from our part by various outbuildings. There are large mature grounds immediately in front, and to the side and rear are vineyards as far as the eye can see! Outside entrance steps up to raised ground floor: (level with rear patio): split-level sitting/dining room with wood burning stove and bar-style kitchen area with french windows to rear patio. A few steps up from living area lead to upper level: 3 bedrooms: 1 double, 2 twins; bathroom (bath, double basin); separate WC. Shared entrance drive and courtyard; private, west-facing rear patio. |
