Cottage for rent in Lucca province - the Garfagnana - Tuscany The cottage, late autumn View from the terrace The kitchen downstairs Twin bedroom upstairs The cottage is built on a triangle of land with a stream, the Rio Cavo, on one side and the River Serchio flowing down below the road on the other. It has been divided into 2 apartments WHICH TO ENSURE PRIVACY ARE NEVER RENTED SEPARATELY. Upstairs has its own private entrance and pretty covered terrace as shown in the photo. Inside there is a small landing off which opens two bedrooms (one double, one twin), bathroom and living room / kitchen (with hob only). The whole place has been newly restored to a high standard with local chestnut wood and terracotta floor tiling used throughout. The ground-level apartment (with wood-burning fireplace) is equally attractive. Guests walk straight into the living room / kitchen (hob only). Leading through are the 2 bedrooms (1 double, 1 twin) and the bathroom. Here the original chestnut wood ceilings are beautifully restored to give a feeling of timelessness. Visitors can either rent the ground floor on its own (see note above) or rent both together if they are going as a larger group of two families. Outside the enclosed garden is for the private use of visitors. Here loungers and table and benches for outdoor eating are set out on the lawn. There is also a vine covered pergola for summer shade. The owners are busy working people who live in the house adjacent to the cottage. They put themselves out to ensure that visitors have the best possible holiday. The wife Barbara cooks on request at very reasonable prices. She also offers a baby-sitting service for visitors who come with children. Please ask.
