The historic old town of Peniscola and castle is situated situated 1km from the apartment, with narrow cobbled streets and an atmosphere of medieval Spain.
The working harbour provides interest and much of the daily fish and seafood is used in the local restaurants and can be purchased at the Port direct of the boats as they return from their daily fishing trips. Also fishing trips and scenic boat trips operate from here.
Peñíscola has many interesting shops, bars and restaurants to suit all tastes. Evenings can be spent walking along the promenade taking in the local sights and sounds, and visiting the flea market at the bottom of the castle walls.
The Serra de Irta National Park has a spectacular coastline popular for walkers and cyclists or swimming in the crystal clear sea.

In the surrounding area, The Monastery of St. Mary in Benifassà (XIII century) and almost uninhabited Medieval settlements (such as el Boixar, Fredes, and Bellestar) can be found.
